Effect of intraventricular neostigmine on the renal function of the rabbit

Abstract
The renal effect of intraventricular neostigmine was investigated in the rabbit.
In control kidey, intraventricular neostigmine inducnd initial diuresis following antidiuresis, concomitant with changes of renal plasma flow, glomorular filtration rate and urinary sodium and potassium excretion in prosportion to urine flow approximately, while in phenol-treated side of kidney, decreasing changes of various riarameters of renal function induced by intraventricular neostigmine was inhibited.
From the above results, it is suggested that antidiw-etic effect of intraventricular neostigmine on the renal function of the rabbit is due to sympathetic actin ation which is innervated in the kidney.
